About Nucleus

Knowledge should move freely.

We connect science, sustainability and local experience to help ecosystems recover and communities build lasting resilience.

Bridging knowledge for practical change

Nucleus is an independent scientific and environmental advisory based in the Netherlands, working internationally across water, ecosystems, food systems, education and sustainable development.

We combine rigorous research with local knowledge and stakeholder engagement, helping institutions and communities turn complex goals into solutions that are credible, relevant and practical to sustain.

2014–2020 · Fiji

Built through real-world practice

Nucleus grew from JNP Fiji Limited, delivering environmental microbiology, sustainable water management and scientific capacity building through local partnerships.

Today · Netherlands and international

A wider platform for collaboration

Based in the Netherlands, Nucleus now carries that experience into international research, advisory and nature-based collaboration.

What we work on

Our expertise crosses disciplines because environmental challenges rarely fit inside a single category.

01

Water quality & ecosystem restoration

Research and monitoring that protect water systems and support ecological recovery.

02

Food systems & agricultural innovation

Food safety and sustainable production approaches that strengthen health and resilience.

03

Education & capacity building

Training and practical tools that leave lasting capability with local partners.

04

Scientific research & advisory

Environmental and microbial science translated into clear decisions and action.

05

Nature-based solutions & biodiversity

Natural-process approaches that restore habitats, biodiversity and resilience.

Why “Nucleus”?

Like a biological nucleus, we gather, refine and share knowledge—strengthening local talent and turning research into action that continues beyond a project.

Values that guide the work

Scientific quality and meaningful impact depend as much on how work is done as on what is delivered.

Scientific integrity

Rigorous, transparent and evidence-based practice.

Collaboration

Knowledge strengthened across borders and disciplines.

Empowerment

Tools and training that enable others to lead change.

Nature first

Solutions aligned with natural processes and recovery.

Community engagement

Inclusive work that respects local knowledge and voices.

Science should serve the people and places that need it.

Every collaboration should leave ecosystems and local capability stronger.
